Fire-rated electrity meter over boxes are designed to provide fire protection for meters inside buildings. These boxes are typically wall mounted and enclose the utility meters in order to prevent the spread of fire.
The primary purpose of our fire-rated electricity meter over box is to maintain the integrity of fire-rated walls or barriers where utility meters are located. In the event of a fire, these boxes help contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to other areas of the building through the meter openings.
Fire-rated electricity meter over boxes are constructed using fire-resistant zintec steel. This psecification of overbox has been independently tested and certified to meet 1 hour fire resistance against test standard EN 1634-1+A1:2018. The fire resistance rating indicates the amount of time the box can withstand exposure to fire before allowing the passage of flames or excessive heat.
