Description:

Fits over the existing electricity meter housing

Designed to maintain insulation and draught proofing while still providing rapid access to electricity meters in homes where externally clad insulation is being added. The meter box boasts a number of innovative design features geared towards helping reduce heat loss in older properties (Patent Application No. 2116780.4.). The door is secured by twin tri-drive locks which are located at the top and bottom of the door to ensure even compression against the door seal.

The door is fitted with an opening handle for convenience and is secured by a safety wire and clip to prevent the door being over extended when first opening. The door cill is gently profiled to prevent water ingress.

Construction and finish:

Fabricated from 1.2mm Zintec steel which is primed and then powder-coated (white RAL9016). The outer frame and door are packed with mineral wool insulation. The door can be hinged on either the right or the left side thanks to quick release hinges, accessible when the door is open. The fixing flanges are offset from the main body, the back edge of the unit is fitted with seal strip in order to prevent cold bridging.
