The best performing airtight loft hatch available

❑  The AT35 metal loft hatch is the first air tight loft hatch of its kind. Insulated to meet Part L of the building regulations the AT35 is airtight in both positive and negative air pressures at 50Pa. This hatch is designed specifically to meet the stringent demands new properties are subjected to ensure they are as airtight and well insulated as possible. The air permeability test is based on BS EN 1026:2000 and BS EN 12207:2000 for a ceiling use only.

Easy to fit

❑  Fitting is a doddle, just screw fix through the pre-drilled holes in the frame into the surrounding joists. The spring loaded twist catch lock ensures a high compression seal between the door and the frame. The outer frame is also fitted with a seal to ensure air cannot easily escape from around the outer edge of the hatch.

FITTING INSTRUCTIONS FOR 600mm JOIST CENTRES

AT35 DROP-DOWN LOFT HATCH

Preparation

Trim out a suitable opening and fix noggins between trusses to form a clear opening of 642x562mm.

Fitting

With hatch open at 90 degrees, offer the frame up to the opening pushing tightly upwards to ceiling to engage the frame seal, hold in place with speed clamps or an alternative safe & secure method. Then fix using the six 40mm long woodscrews with air-seal black rubber washers (provided). Ensure the screws are fixed in straight to gain the required air-seal and do not over tighten. Make the frame is fixed squarely, check the diagonals are identical, adjusting with the screw tension if necessary. Close the hatch and lock with the triangular drive key.
